President Mike started his first meeting at 12:00 PM and Chuck said a prayer thanking God for the new Rotary year, for our new president, for the new Board and a blessing for the food.
Music: Glory Hallelujah, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Over There, It’s A Grand Old Flag, Battle Hymn Of The Republic, This Is My Country, As The Saints Go Marching In, and so many more that continued for at least a half hour. Thanks again so much, Teddie; you are so very much appreciated.
Food: The Navesink Country Club provided us with a more-than sumptuous patriotic buffet consisting of hot dogs, hamburgers, cob salad, potato salad, cole slaw, knockwurst, lettuce & tomato, corn-on-the cob, chicken, cherry pie, apple pie, ice cream pops (like the kind they had when we were kids), ice cream sandwiches and cones, and whatever else I failed to note. This was extraordinary and it would be lovely to thank the maître‘d and servers when we see them for their thoughtfulness and graciousness.
Guests: Linda Parish, a prospect, who hopefully will be inducted shortly, and Kathy Magrino, a business associate of Mike DeNofa.
Fines: Jim was out so we all got away easy this week…but who knows what will happen next week!
Happy Dollars: Harriet- happy her term is over, and for a very memorable term; Addie, Denise – welcomed Mike as our new president; Gloria-for last meeting being so wonderful; Horton, Addie, Joe, Denise - for Harriet; Ken-for getting married; Denise- all happy to be here today; Gail- NY Times article about British president; Liz, Denise; Harriet, Mike – all for America’s freedom; Don- sad dollar for Mike being president.

Satellite club meets 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month
Speaker: Our new president Mike DeNofa started out the meeting with a burst of enthusiasm and welcomed everybody with a wonderful talk, asking that we continue to support Rotary to our fullest extent.
He asked us to continue to support the Rotary International Foundation with at least a $100 per year donation.
Mike also talked about three goals: membership, raising money, and doing more for Rotary. He made particular mention to bring around public awareness of Rotary, and to do more marketing of our club. In that he made it emphatic that we tell the public WHY we raise money. At the end, Mike asked all of us to contact him with any and all ideas.
At the end, Mike enjoyed a standing ovation from the entire club, indicating full support for our new president. All the best from all of us, Mike.
CORRECTION OF LAST WEEK’S COGS -- Last week we mentioned that Chris Ryan, guest of Linda Rose, was his 3rd time joining us. This was incorrect. It was the first time he joined us and my apologies to Lynda. -WHT
50/50 of $80 went to Jon Schwartz
Meeting ended at 1:10 PM and we sat around enjoying each other and the remains of that delicious buffet.
25 members attended today’s meeting
This is the final test of a gentleman: his respect for those who can be of no possible value to him.
