Arteriovenous Malformation

In 1999, I suffered from what is known as an AVM - arteriovenous malformation. Since that day, my life has been changed in so many ways - many of which are for the better.

As an avid health enthusiast, I go to the gym everyday, which has enabled me to learn to walk on my own again. In addition, I am now able to have the time to do speak to organizations on behalf of the story that I share in my book, Determination. I have also enjoyed volunteering my time teaching golf to children (which has exceeded over one hundred twenty-five), with our local fire department and assisting with golf outings - specifically at Rumson Country Club.

I am fortunate to say that I am blessed with my recovery, which has been a combination of mental and physical challenges that required me to start with a belief system, and quite honestly, DETERMINATION, that my life was going to change for the better after that event in 1999.

And it did.

There is not a day that goes by where I do not feel grateful to the team who has helped in my road to recovery in addition to the many family and friends who have remained my biggest cheerleaders. It is a privilege to be able to speak to others on educating on behalf of AVM as well as the many challenges we all face as we get older. Writing my book has allowed me to share my journey with you in hopes of inspiring others to not give up when they are faced with their challenges that life throws their way.

I am now able to play golf, a sport that I love, which has been very helpful in my recovery as am able to return to a more joyful, abundant life. Writing this story has helped me to remember how blessed I am in so many ways - from childhood to the present - while looking optimistically towards my future.
