COGS July 25, 2019

The heat wave broke and the rain clouds parted to make it a perfect day to get some fresh air and to come together with our fellow Rotarians.  Jay was in fine form collecting fines from those who forgot their pins and did not remember the color of the day.

Those in attendance were able to enjoy the stack of thank you notes we received from Ryla students as well as Christy Palmer, one of our scholarship recipients.

Our speaker was Jay Vieth from "She Runs!"  She discussed her mission of empowering women through fitness.  The presentation proved informative as well as hands on when she demonstrated a workout that any of us can do without leaving our chairs.  She is deeply involved in the upcoming "Beauty & The Beach Run" which is September 28, 2019 to benefit the Aslan Youth Ministries.

Lots on the upcoming agenda for our Rotary Chapter:

-Next week is Past Presidents' Day

- August 8 - There will be no meeting

- August 9 - Club Picnic at Monmouth Park

- September 26 - InterCity Meeting - We have lots of neighboring clubs already signed up so please come out and join in the event to show your Red Bank spirit.

October 1 - The Golf and Food and Wine event - Donations are needed ASAP as the baskets for the event need to be ready by the beginning of September.  Popular items include restaurant gift certificates as well as bottles of wine.  Volunteers for the committees for this joint event are being sought.

November 7 - Honorary Rotarian of the Year

November 21 - Club Elections.

Finally, are you feeling luck?  Do you dream of hitting it big and drinking nothing but olive martinis?  The deck of cards for the 50/50 is down to 19.  Get the joker and you may win a pot which currently appears to be over $400.  Don't forget to get your tickets at each meeting as you have to be in it to win it.

Remember to read the entire COGS as the color of the day is hidden within.
