There were two wonderful Holiday surprises at Rotary today. First, that I was back from Florida and able to attend the meeting. People were just elated to see me. The Prez, what’s his name, gave a sad dollar that I was back and a happy dollar that I was leaving. Hey guys, you know by now that you can’t hurt my feelings. The second surprise was that NCC treated us to a holiday glass of champagne. Fortunately, there weren’t a lot of people sitting at my table, and I was able to finish off all the glasses that were not used. A delightful Rotary meeting!

In the holiday spirit, Teddie tickled the ivories and we were treated to a selection of Christmas music. She adds so much to our meetings.

Chuck gave thanks and Bill told us a joke (?). Jay did the fines and happy dollars to include late arrivals of Harry, Jon, and Jim. Jay didn’t have a pin so he chipped in a buck, also. Steve, Chuck, Joe, and Harriet gave a dollar for a happy holiday. Robin and someone else gave a dollar for the great holiday party that Steve ran. I’m sorry I missed it, but no one else is sorry that I could make it. Lou gave $5 and then another $5. I missed what the first one was for because Lou is old and he mumbles, but the second one was for his wife’s successful knee operations.

Darren presented the tips to our faithful servers and for Juan, the manager. They really do a great job in taking care of us.

Jim was late, but he managed to get in a few fines for pictures in the paper. Naturally, Robin was in and Holly and Jon Schwartz had their picture in, as well. Jon, for a separate item, was also pictured as the new councilman in Sea Bright. Heaven help Sea Bright.

Bill, Jay. Joe an I told little jokes and even Lou managed to give us a funny. Barbara was the 50-50 winner but the joker was not picked.

Hey people, have a great holiday, and I will see you a few months.

TTFN.
