If anybody has ideas for a Community Service project, please send them to any Board member.Thank you.EXTRA! Did you know that for $12.00 a year you can give a 1-year gift subscription of The Rotarian to anybody in the USA, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands? What a great idea for a prospective member, a friend, family member, holiday gift and as a thank-you for somebody for whom you want to show appreciation. Ted is a member of the Long Branch Rotary Club. The mission of KCO is to send cancer survivors and patients on a trip consisting of a free, 5-day cruise to Bermuda on the Royal Caribbean cruise lines, which leaves from Port Liberty, New Jersey. A cruise for two cost $2,500 and for 3 or 4 is approximately $3,000-$3,500, which includes a balcony room, gratuities, parking (or transportation to the port), and passports, if needed. The New Jersey Marathon is a funding sponsor. 100% of any donation goes directly to the recipients, and Ted noted that there is no labor or overhead in the process, as with other charities. Ted would like individuals and businesses to donate [money for] the cruises. Ted said it would be lovely for celebrities to also be part of the cruises.Kick Cancer Overboard recently became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, so your donations are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.KCO also has fundraisers, and more information can be obtained by going to www.kickcanceroverboard.com or email them at kickit@kickcanceroverboard.com or call 732-758-1990.Ted is also president of Excel Travel, a well-established travel agency in Long Branch.50/50 $20 went to Frank MazzaMeeting ended at 1:28 PM32 members attended today’s meetingTo be without some of the things you want is an indispensable part of happiness.– Bertrand Russell_____________________________________________________________________________Any comments concerning information published in this newsletter would greatly be appreciated.
