President Ken started the meeting at 12:23 PM and Bill S. said a prayer…thanking you for yesterday, today and tomorrow, 2 new Rotarians and DG Dave Forward for a great year
 
Music: Godfather, Everybody Loves Somebody, Someone to Watch Over Me, Moonriver.
 
Food: Mixed green salad, grilled Mahi Mahi, rice, green beans, salsa, cheese cake, coffee & tea
 
Guests:  Barbara Mullin’s granddaughter, Fiona; Teddy’s daughter; Ken’s Mom Anne Scaggs, and brother Dan’s wife, Rose Louise
 
Fines: Late: Rob, Mike Toscano, Harry, Addie; DG Dave for red socks and all the work he does; Ken’s Mom; Bill S; Larry, Joe; Jay & Dan for being new Rotarians; Bill D,- for his shirt; Gloria & John – first time here together.

  7. Reminders:
    1. Denise needs more books for Little Free Library
    2. Use Rotary business/thank you cards when patronizing restaurants and other businesses and club supporters in the area
    3.  If you know of any speakers, to please let Ken Scaggs know, as he is now in charge. Please let him know if you have any comments: good or bad.
    4. If anybody has ideas for a Community Service project, please send them to any Board member.  Thank you.
    5. Addie needs donations for Chinese Auction for Golf Outing…wine, new gifts unopened, etc.
  8. Satellite club meets 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month, 6:00 PM at Teak, on Monmouth Street, Red Bank.
 
Speaker:  District Governor Dave Forward – and Joe Greca inducted new members Dan Scaggs and Jay Schwartz. Dan is Ken’s brother and Jay is Jon’s son. Congratulations to each and their families.
 
Dave spoke to us about being a District Governor for the 2nd year in a row, which was not something he envisioned.  However knowing Dave, he will (and already has) done a monumental job in keeping the district moving forward (no pun) with the spirit that nobody else has. We are all indebted to Dave and always enjoy him being with us and giving us his great guidance.
 
Dave mentioned that when he first joined Rotary and wanted to quit because of all the “old” people in his club.  He was told that he could say “no” only when asked to join, and from that time on he continued to say “yes” and became involved with Rotary. A profound statement was that he realized that we are Rotarians who serve humanity.
