Satellite club meets 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month, 6:00 PM at Teak, on Monmouth Street
-
Notices to all – cell phones are NOT PERMITTED on the premises of the Navesink Country ClubSpeaker: Dave Forward, District Governor – a truly wonderful and inspiring person is Dave and he spoke about the following Rotary concerns:
- Talked about October 19-23 – he suggested we skip a Rotary lunch just once and take the money normally spent and donate it to Polio Plus. There are 1158 members in our district that if all gave, would produce 50,000 more polio vaccinations. Gates Foundation would double what we give.
- November 6th – one person in community to be recognized for giving service over self, to take place at the Bove Grande, Toms River.
- Create a Rotary Day (February 29th) and wear Rotary shirts…collect food, etc., and give it to the poor or a food bank.
- Rotary International President is coming to our district in April – and there will be a reception for those who gift $10,000 or more to Rotary in their wills.
- District Conference on April 29-May 1, where two past presidents will speak, one of which will be Franklin Devlin of Mexico. Should be very interesting.
50/50 $60 went to Horton. Lucky guy, but no cigar again. 10 cards left.
Meeting ended at 1:25 PM
35 members attended today’s meeting
Never let a day go by without giving at least three people a compliment.
